How to create an FTP account in cPanel?
In this article, we will learn how to create an FTP account within cPanel so that you can share information with your collaborators or clients. Additionally, if you want your developer to upload updates to your website or application, this is how you do it.

FTP accounts have the advantage of being secure for your cPanel account, as they do not grant access to emails or databases. Users only have access to a specific folder within the file manager.
Follow the simple steps below to create your FTP account in cPanel within your active service.

To create an account, you should:
  1. Log in to cPanel and in the search bar, type "FTP".
  2. Select the "FTP Accounts" option.
  3. In the form that appears, enter the username (note that the domain name is already filled in), create a password, and for security, re-enter your assigned password.
  4. Each user will have a specific folder to work with, so leave the value that appears in the "Directory" field.
  5. If you want to assign a folder to multiple users, you should create it first within the file manager and then enter its location. In this case, we will use the folder we had previously created with the name "shared_ftp".
  6. Finally, click on "Create FTP Account". Keep in mind that your FTP username may look like an email address, but it won't function as an email; it's solely for uploading/downloading files.

Configuring Your FTP Account
  1. Open your "FileZilla" application and select "Site Manager".
  2. Click on "New Site" and fill out the form on the right side.
  3. In the server name field, enter your domain name.
  4. In the encryption field, select "Use plain FTP only".
  5. In the Logon Type field, select "Account".
  6. In the username and password fields, enter the credentials you created in the previous steps.
  7. In the account field, enter the FTP username and click connect.
  8. If a certificate warning appears, you should accept it.
  9. Once connected, you can upload your files to the required folder.
With these steps, you can create, configure, upload, and share content between your website and your team.
